Copy
Editing
I
can proof read, correct, and enhance your script using British English,
American English, or any other style of English. I'll use words and phrases that enhance your
presentation, giving your film, video or audio project a fresh, contemporary sound.
Fees
vary according to the work involved. On average I charge around ¥500 (US$75)
to check and correct a 2,000 word script.
Thanks for dropping by and visiting my website. In case you were wondering, yingguoren is what the Chinese call British people, and literally means 'Hero Nation People'.
I'm Mark Griffiths,
a British broadcaster and writer based in Beijing, China.
I'm
originally from London and I usually speak with a standard British accent, which makes it very easy to understand what I'm saying. I can also speak with a standard American accent. People say I have a warm, friendly voice that's easy to listen to.
I perfected my American accent with voice coach Anne Walsh at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London. Anne works with some of the world's best known film and stage actors, including 007 star Daniel Craig, Penelope Cruz, and Natalie Portman.
I
am in constant demand for TV voiceovers, radio shows, ads, documentaries
and corporate videos.
In 2011 I narrated another sports documentary movie, 'Together in Guangzhao', the official film of the 2010 Asian Games. The film opened the Milan International FICTS Film Festival in October 2011. Both films were shown in cinemas all over the world.
I have narrated several historical documentary series for China Central Television's Documentary Channel. You can watch some of them by clicking here.
English
Expert
I
am a Foreign Expert under China's State Administration of Radio,
Film and Television and broadcast a live daily news and current
affairs show called China Drive from China Radio International's studios in Beijing.
Writer
I
write for the Global
Times newspaper in Beijing, the Classic
FM Magazine in London and other publications around the
world on subjects including classical music, travel and current
affairs.
My
writing
style has been described as creative, informed and interesting
- qualities I try to carry over into the professional services I
provide for private clients.
In
the last 12 months I've worked with Audi, BMW, Castrol, China Central Television, Beijing Television, Kaspersky, China Southern Airlines,
China State Grid, Chongqing Airlines, Hanvon, Wall Street English, Tsinghua University, and many other broadcasting
organisations and companies.
Qualifications
& Experience
I'm
very interested in history and am currently studying Ancient History on a distance learning course run by Oxford University.
I also have qualifications in Spanish,
German, French, & Latin, and a BA Honours Degree in Communication
Studies - the science and study of language itself.
I've worked for BBC overseas radio, Classic FM London, TVE Spanish
National Radio, as well as other European and American broadcasting
organisations. In the print media my former employers include the
global publishing companies EMAP, Haymarket Publications and the
Express Newspaper Group.
